About Daily Sudoku
Daily Sudoku is a free daily sudoku puzzle you can play in your browser. A new puzzle appears every day at three difficulty levels: easy, medium, and hard. You fill a 9x9 grid so every row, column, and 3x3 box contains the digits 1 through 9 exactly once.
How to play Daily Sudoku?
The board is a 9x9 grid divided into nine 3x3 boxes. Some cells are already filled with numbers. Your job is to fill every empty cell so that each row, each column, and each 3x3 box contains the digits 1 through 9 with no repeats.
Tap or click an empty cell to select it, then tap or click a number from the number pad to place it. If you change your mind, tap the cell again and pick a different number, or erase it to leave the cell blank. You can also use keyboard: arrow keys to move, 1 through 9 to place, Backspace or Delete to erase, N to toggle notes mode, and Ctrl or Cmd plus Z to undo.
You have three mistakes. Each time you place a wrong number, the mistake counter goes up. Hit three and the game ends. Use the notes mode to pencil in candidate numbers before committing, and undo with Ctrl or Cmd plus Z if you spot a bad move.

Tips and strategy
- 1Scan rows, columns, and boxes for single candidates. If a number can only go in one cell within a row, column, or 3x3 box, place it there before looking at anything else.
- 2Start with the boxes that have the most filled cells. A box with 7 of 9 numbers filled is nearly solved, and those last two numbers often unlock other boxes.
- 3Use pencil marks for candidates. Mentally note which numbers fit in each empty cell, and when another cell in the same row, column, or box takes that number, cross it off.
- 4On hard difficulty, look for naked pairs. If two cells in a row can only hold the same two numbers, those numbers can't appear elsewhere in that row.
